Lets talk about hitting it out of the park with Stockings. As a mom that is basically a right of passage. When you grow up, you get to know all the details and stay up late putting toys together and stuffing those socks.
The trick is to start with the orange, a big one. It fills the toe right up. Gives you a nice headstart to loading that bad boy up. I promise you are winning from the first moment.
So now that we have started off on the right foot (pun!) you are ready. For the lady/girl on your list you can’t go wrong with chocolate of any kind. I prefer milk chocolate so if I’m on your list please take notes. Nail polish, perfume, cozy socks and more chocolate. I’m not kidding. This is definitely an event where it is so acceptable to go heavy on the sweets. I’d say a good rule-of-tumb would be to keep my stockings at a 95/5 ratio, wouldn’t you think? 95% sweets and snacks and 5% gifts?
Lidl has the coziest house slippers. It’s nearly a mistake to not buy them. I got myself three pairs… and I also got my bestie a matching white pair so we can twin whenever we feel like it. I love that they have a festive print but also the winter white because the white you’ll be able to wear all year long. These also make great stocking stuffers or as a gift for your party hostess.
For the guy on your list again, I heavily suggest going mostly sweets. Chocolates, cologne, candy canes etc. It would be 100% acceptable to also surprise them with a Christmas sweater to wear the rest of the Holiday break.
Lidl also has this thing I call the magic section, but they call is the Preferred Selection. A few of my favorites would have to be Hot Chocolate on a Stick. Yep, just like it sounds. Also, the best tasting syrup I’ve ever had and a raspberry sauce that we put inside our crepes. Get this, they have a crepe mix. The mix comes in a bottle and is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. You add the liquids directly into the bottle, put the lid back on, shake it, and then pour directly out onto your pan. Makes clean up a snap and you could put the lid on and save it for tomorrow if you don’t end up eating them all.
The chocolates I keep mentioning to you are European Chocolates. Oh, so, good. German Gingerbread cookies, Marzipan Logs and so many other things.
So my tips for you. Orange in the toe of the stocking, massive amounts of chocolates and sweets and one or two gifts to stuff in. You are golden there. And the trick to making it all happen? Lidl. Head on over to here and find the nearest location to you and shop shop shop! They also have toys loves. I kid you not.
Lidl thank you for sponsoring this post! As always, thoughts and opinions are all my own.
